Who should take this course?

This course is required for all senior Recreation Management students with an emphasis in Nature Based Tourism.

Why is this class important?

Students in this course will use their business, recreation, and environmental knowledge gained throughout their time in school to create a real-life nature based business. It provides the tools for students to succeed beyond the classroom.

What will I learn?

This course provides a review of commercial recreation and tourism businesses; an understanding of the marketing and business concepts needed for these enterprises; and the ability to research and write a business plan with the use of sustainable concepts, principles, and practices.

How do I succeed in the class?

Student will need to keep up on the assigned readings, put their knowledge gained from their business classes to work, and submit sections of the business plan in on time and regularly.
