Don Bedunah came to The University of Montana in 1982 as Assistant Professor of Range Resource Management. He became a Professor in 1991 and he was an integral member of the College of Forestry and Conservation faculty. His teachings on range sciences and range ecology are central to our Resource Conservation and Forestry majors. Don's research interests were broad, covering such topics as conserving biodiversity on Mongolian Rangelands, enhancing elk forage closer to home, and evaluating rangelands all through central Asia. He was an excellent teacher with high expectations for his students and a real dedication to helping students succeed academically and professionally.
Colleagues from the College of Forestry and Conservation and the University of Montana, collaborators from around the world, and former students all remember Don as a dedicated, compassionate teacher; a renowned rangeland scientist; and a kind friend who will be missed by all.
