Graduate opportunities in forest inventory & modelling

The Inland Northwest Growth & Yield (INGY) Cooperative was established in 1984 to provide an independent organization for addressing mutual information needs and technical challenges concerning the growth and yield of forests across the interior northwest. The cooperative consists of private timberland owners, tribal and governmental forest management agencies, forestry consulting firms, and forest research institutions throughout the Inland Northwest. Together, specialists with these organizations have been able to identify and solve complex mensurational and modeling challenges that would have been intractable without collaboration. 

INGY's overarching goals are to: 

• Identify, evaluate, and rank growth and yield research priorities in the Inland Northwest.
• Encourage development of yield forecasting methods to improve forest management.
• Coordinate and initiate acquisition of high priority growth and yield information.
• Facilitate the dissemination of growth and yield information.

The Cooperative continues to advance these goals through active collaboration among member and non-member organizations, as well as through sponsorship of technical symposia, reports, and peer-reviewed research.
