Software Development

We develop software for wildlife managers to bring cutting edge statistical analyses to conservation planning and decision making.

We are currently developing or have developed R packages for ungulate harvest management in Colorado and Idaho as well as mountain lion management in Montana.  The software includes integrated population models combining multiple data sources to project popualtions across time.  The software also allows wildlife managers to manipulate future harvest to assess population-level effects.

Our projects also include automation of large-scale monitoring program analysis for the Integrated Monitoring in Bird Conservation Regions program.  RIMBCR is an R package that automates distancesampling and occupancy estimation across multiple strata and more than 1,000 sampling sites.RIMBCR Occupancy Interface
