David Naugle, USDA Science Advisor and Professor in Wildlife Biology at UM, Receives the 2011 Secretary of Agriculture's Honor Award.

On Wednesday, September 14th, 2011, David Naugle, USDA Science Advisor and Professor in Wildlife Biology at UM, received the 2011 Secretary of Agriculture’s Honor Award. The Secretary's Honor Award is the most prestigious award given by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack formally recognized NRCS’s Sage Grouse Initiative Team "For exemplary leadership in developing and implementing NRCS's new and exciting Sage-Grouse Initiative, a spatially targeted, landscape scale approach to achieving world-class wildlife conservation through sustainable ranching".

David was honored along with his co-leader and National Sage Grouse Initiative Coordinator Tim Griffiths, and 33 other team members from USDA and cooperating state and federal agencies.
