President - Caleb Dysthe

Caleb is a sophomore in the Wildland Restoration Program primarily focusing on terrestrial ecosystems. He is interested in restoration ecology and management, and seeks a career promoting healthy ecosystems through ecological restoration. He is also interested in communicating the importance of restoring wildlands to the general public. Caleb enjoys volunteering for various restoration projects and is committed to representing UMSER. In addition to his interest in ecological restoration, Caleb also enjoys studying the evolution and ecology of bark beetles, their symbiotic fungi, and the effects that bark beetles and fungi have on our forests.

Vice-President - Leighton King

Leighton is a junior in the Wildland Restoration Program with a focus on aquatic ecosystems. She is interested in pursuing a career in the restoration of degraded streams, rivers, and wetlands. Leighton is especially interested in studying hydrology and the relationship between land and water. She is looking forward to all of the upcoming SER events!

Treasurer - David Fulton-Beale

David is a sophomore in the Wildland Restoration Program, focusing on aquatic ecosystems. He is interested in using his training in restoration to help ecosystems respond to climate change. He is also involved in research into alternatives to herbicides for controlling leafy spurge. David is excited to be involved with UMSER as the group grows over the next few years.

Communication Director - Hank Stein

Hank is a junior in the Wildland Restoration Program with a focus on terrestrial ecosystems. He is pursuing a career in restoration ecology research. He also loves learning about ecolgoical responses to human involvement. Hank is proud to be involved with SER and is excited for the SER 2013 World Conference on Ecological Restoration.
