M.S. Wildlife Biology - Checklist for Application

1. Completed online application form (a paper application may be requested from the Graduate School Office)*
2. Course Summary Sheet
3. $45.00 application fee
4. One official transcript of all college and university courses
5. A short statement of your interests and goals
6. A resume detailing work experiences from college entry to present
7. Three letters of recommendation*
8. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores for verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing;
9. GRE and TOEFL scores are required for international students

NOTE: No special application form is required for financial assistance. Awarding of financial assistance is a separate process from admission.

Graduate Entrance Requirements {ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY 15}

Preliminary decisions regarding acceptance into the M.S. program will be made using the following criteria:

• Submission of all materials listed above
• Equivalent of undergraduate major in wildlife with emphasis on basic sciences
• Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores of at least 50% on each of the verbal, quantitative and analytical sections.
• TOEFL score of at least 550
• Grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (A=4.0) for all college work; better than 3.0 for forestry, wildlife, zoology, botany and biology courses College math and one year of chemistry

Degrees in fields unrelated to Wildlife Biology: Each year we receive inquiries from a number of college graduates with undergraduate training in areas unrelated to wildlife biology or closely related fields. Although we are sympathetic, we cannot grant these students admission to our graduate program. They can apply for admission to the undergraduate program or apply as a nondegree status student. After making up their deficiencies, these students may apply for admission to the graduate program. However, there is no guarantee of admission. It is not possible to provide financial assistance for such students.
