Degree Options


Aquatic Option

Want to work in restoration of aquatic systems? Student graduating under the aquatic option will be qualified to work in a number of fields in riverine, riparian and wetlands restoration. The strong emphasis on physical and biological sciences in this option will provide a student with the background required to address the many challenges associated with restoring degraded aquatic systems. The program meets civil service requirements (required for employment with the federal government) for hydrologist, general biological science, and ecologist.

Terrestrial Option

Want to work in restoration of terrestrial systems? Students graduating under the terrestrial option will be qualified to work in a number of fields including grassland and forest restoration. The strong emphasis on ecology and other biological sciences in this option will provide a student with the background required to address the many challenges associated with restoring degraded terrestrial systems. The program meets civil service requirements (required for employment with the federal government) for general biological science, and ecologist. With careful selection of courses, a student can also meet civil service requirements for botanist.
