Avian Science Center

The Avian Science Center (ASC) promotes informed decision making based on ecological research; the collection, synthesis, and communication of knowledge about birds and their ecosystems for conservation of natural resources. At ASC, we draw our approach from the field of conservation biology. Not only do we examine the ecology of birds but also the effects of human activities on avian species, communities and their ecosystems.

ASC was established at the University of Montana in 2004. In the fall of 2013 we became affiliated with the Wildlife Biology Program and the College of Forestry and Conservation.
