Schedule of Events
We invite all alumni back to campus September 19-21, 2013, to celebrate the past 100 years and look forward to the future. Welcome center and registration inside the Forestry building on Thursday from 8am - 5pm and on Friday morning.
Thurs., Sept. 19
Memorabilia viewing We'll have Forestry Kaimins, old photos, journals from a 1941 range management field trip and from a 1916 student, old Foresters' Ball tickets, and other items on display all day in the Forestry building.
Field day open house at Lubrecht Experimental Forest from 10am - 3pm — Tours and demonstrations of research and activities with students and faculty. Activities include: sawmill demonstration and a 1900s ranger test as well as demonstrations of current uses of Lubrecht in fire, hydrology, and recreation. Lunch provided in the Lubrecht dining hall. BBQ at the Woodsman Competition Grounds at Fort Missoula from 5:30pm - 8:00pm Demonstration by the UM Woodsman Team and a BBQ dinner prepared by student club members. Student clubs will also have informational tables so you can find out what groups like the Wildlife Society, Forestry Club, Foresters' Ball, and Student Recreation Association are up to these days. Children welcome. Tickets are $12/person. Purchase tickets here.
Fri., Sept. 20

Story Recording Ongoing through the day — We want to record stories of your memories from UM. We'll set up a mobile recording booth and have several interview prompts so we can preserve your memories about favorite classes, best field trip, and more.
Dendrology tour of the UM campus 11am — Take a walking tour of campus with current forestry students and test your knowledge of trees. UM Advocates will also join the tour so you can get a refresher on UM's campus and new buildings.
Lunch 12pm - 1pm — Join us in the big tent by the High Wheels for a lunch provided by the College. Current faculty and students will eat with us.
Student and faculty presentations 1-3pm — Student and faculty poster presentations in Forestry 106. Learn what research and activities are happening today in the College in a relaxed, interactive forum. Current faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students will have poster displays about research and other activities so you can learn more about the college's current degree programs and research highlights.
Reception and banquet in the University Center Ballroom from 5:30pm - 9:00pm — Join alumni, friends, current and retired faculty for a fun night of food and drink, along with videos, slide shows and displays of historical artifacts. Get your picture taken in a mini-Foresters’ Ball logging town. View displays of historical materials. Watch a short video about the College's current students. Tickets are $40/person. Sat., Sept. 21
Forestry Griz Football tailgate party 11am - 1pm — Join us for food and drink before for the big game against Oklahoma Panhandle State. Location of tailgate will be available at registration. Activities and fun for all ages.
Griz game at 1:30pm — We've reserved a block of tickets so you can sit with other forestry alums during the game.
