Camp Schedule and Living Arrangements
All students must live in the camp facility and be in residence for the full two weeks, including the WEEKEND! NO Exceptions! Camp will close on Friday after the two-week session. Field final examinations will run from 8 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. Following the completion of evaluations and equipment returns, each student will be assigned some task associated with the cleanup of the camp facilities. After this has been satisfactorily completed, the student is free to leave. Shuttle buses leave for campus and the Science Complex approximately at 2:30 p.m. in the Castle Forest Center.
Students will be assigned to 3-person or 6-person cabins. Beds, mattresses, small wardrobes and study desks are provided, but students must provide their own bedding and pillows. A sleeping bag and a sheet will work fine. The cabins are heated using wood-burning stoves. Other facilities include a mess hall, recreation hall, shower-toilet facilities, classrooms, laboratories and study hall. The Lubrecht Conference Manager administers the camp kitchen. A cook, hired by the Lubrecht Conference Manager, is in charge of all meal planning and preparation. If you have specific dietary constraints please communicate these needs to the camp coordinators prior to the start of camp. Each day breakfast and dinner are served in the mess hall at 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively. Each student will prepare his or her own sack lunch daily immediately following breakfast.
