An upper level undergraduate instructional program that includes supervised pre-professional practice in approved recreation management agencies. The Recreation Management program at The University of Montana is designed to prepare students for professional positions in the development and management of recreation and parks programs and resources.  The program is based on the philosophy that the student's professional preparation should be balanced with theoretical and practical learning opportunities.

The practicum is delivered through two courses.  RECM 450, the Pre-practicum (syllabus) is offered in Spring semester.  During the one credit Pre-practicum, students explore elements of job searching and set up their practicum contracts.  When the students enroll in the RECM 460 Practicum course (syllabus), they complete from 400-600 hours of guided field placement. Please see the Practicum manual for details on the Practicum experience.
