INGY reports and datasets can be browsed and downloaded by members from the University of Montana's FTP site ftp.cfc.umt.edu.  Instructions on accessing this information are given below for Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7/8, and Microsoft IE 9.x.

How to Connect to a Special FTP Folder Using Firefox

  1. You will need to have the FireFTP plug-in installed:
      https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireftp/
  2. Open FireFox and click on Tools > Web Developer > FireFTP 
  3. Choose “Create an account” or choose “Quick Connect” in the dropdown near the top left of the FireFTP page
  4. Fill in the account information
  5. Hit the Connect link – the site will show in the right window. 
  6. Navigate to folder /Special/INGY
  7. Your computer will show in the left window. You can then copy files from the INGY window to your computer window.


How to Connect to a Special FTP Folder Using IE 7.0 or IE 8.0

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to this URL:  ftp://ftp.cfc.umt.edu
  2. On the Internet Explorer menu, click Page, and then click "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer" (at the very bottom of the list)
  3. Windows XP: In the new window, click "File," then click "Login As".
    Windows 7:  Right click in the window and choose “Login As”.
  4. Enter the Username:  “INGY”   |  Password:  *****
  5. Navigate to folder /Special/INGY
  6. Copy needed folders or files to your computer.


How to Connect to a Special FTP Folder Using IE 9.0

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to this URL:  ftp://ftp.cfc.umt.edu
  2. Press and release Alt, then click View > "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer"
  3. Select "Allow" if a warning comes up.
  4. Windows XP: In the new window, click "File," then "Login As".
    Windows 7:  Right click in the window and choose “Login As”.
  5. Enter the Username:  “INGY”   |  Password:  *****
  6. Navigate to the folder /Special/INGY
  7. You should then be able to copy folders and files to your computer.
