Cory Cleveland

Growing up in the Colorado Rockies, I developed a curiosity and appreciation for the natural world that inspired me to pursue a career in the environmental sciences. While my interests developed on their own, I realize they must be cultivated in others. My goal as a teacher is not only to help train and inspire the next generation of professionals, but also to help students develop the capacity for critical thinking and thoughtful decision making, informed through a clear understanding of the natural world. My research program is highly interdisciplinary, intersecting the fields of soil science, microbiology and ecosystem ecology. Through my research I hope to help us better understand the ecosystems that we all depend on and how they are changing.
