|PRIMENet has several handheld radiometers
available for use by students, researchers and others to collect information
or conduct educational projects in the national parks and/or other public
In exchange for the use of these meters, the borrower agrees to submit an overview of what the meter will be used for and any research papers published or presentations made based on data collected with meters. The borrower also agrees to return the meter promptly when no longer in use so that the meters may be loaned out to others who need them. If the meter is to be used for multiple years or on a seasonal basis, please let us know so that we can maximize use of the meters seasonally.
In each case, PRIMENet will require a National Park Service employee to be the local custodian of the meter. PRIMENet will ship the meter to the park custodian/or designated researcher and that person will work directly with the group or individual who will ultimately use the meter. PRIMENet will communicate with the park custodian and directly with the borrower in some instances. The Park custodian is responsible for keeping track of the meter and for assisting PRIMENet staff with collection of reports, papers, or presentations that result from use of the meter. We also request digital photos of radiometer's use in the field.
