B.S. Resource Conservation 2002

Resource Conservation provided me with a well-rounded education in Natural Resource Management. Not only did the program focus on the scientific and practical aspects of environmental work, but it also offered a candid examination of the social, economic and political issues related to ecologically-based decision making. Western Montana is an ideal setting to explore these relationships. There are few comparable places that illustrate the interface between urban, rural and wilderness areas as well as Montana.
This degree afforded me an opportunity to explore a variety of arenas in my professional development. Since graduation, I have had the chance to assist in scientific research projects, design and implement riparian restoration projects, and help manage wilderness recreation programs. The wide variety of possible program applications makes Resource Conservation a great foundation for building a career in the environmental field.
