Marijka Wessner

Resource Conservation 2000Marijka Wessner

Marijka is the Weed Education Coordinator for the Missoula County Weed District, where she has worked since 2002. As Weed Education Coordinator, she organizes and facilitates educational courses, programs, activities, trainings, field trips, and posters for the public on noxious weed management.

Marijka’s degree in Resource Conservation allowed her to focus on a specific area of interest - invasive species and botany. Marijka’s undergraduate thesis on handpulling knapweed on Mt. Sentinel helped her focus on invasive non-native plants. She was able to take classes from a variety of departments and do an internship in environmental education. The Resource Conservation major provided Marijka with the flexibility to focus on her area of interest and ultimately find a job in her field.
