The Department of Society and Conservation is making changes in our approach to advising this semester to improve faculty accessibility and enhance efficiency.
(1) All recreation students
(That is if your advisor = Keith Bosak, Bill Borrie, Wayne Freimund, Neil Moisey, Norma Nickerson, Mike Patterson)
(2) Resource Conservation Students whose advisor is Martin Nie.
(1) Advising will be done during advising week (April 7-April 11) so you are in a position to register for courses at the earliest possible time slot.
(2) To schedule an appointment with your advisor contact Lynn Gruszie in person (CHCB 461), by phone (243-6657), or via email (lynn.gruszie@umonanta.edu).
- Lynn has the faculty schedules and will set you up with an open advising slot
- If you are not certain who your advisor is, Lynn can tell you
- Hours that Lynn’s Office (CHCB 461) are open – 8:00-4:00 (w/ lunch and errand breaks)
(3) Before meeting with your advisor check your advising folder and make sure the General Education Course Form and the Recreation Program Course Form are filled out to reflect the courses you have completed/are enrolled in
- Lynn will have these in a folder for you – you can do this immediately before the advising period or at an earlier time
- If you are uncertain how to complete these forms, see your advisor will explain during the advising meeting (but complete them if you know how)
- Lynn will also have a copy of your current transcript printed to help you with this process (and w/ advising)
Hopefully these changes will make advising more efficient and accessing your faculty advisor more convenient.
