Recreation Resources Management

  • Students in this option focus on visitor and land management in protected areas such as parks and forests
  • Coursework provides an understanding of: (1) approaches used to provide recreation opportunities that facilitate enjoyable and meaningful experiences; (2) methods used to assess and manage visitor impacts; and (3) the social, legal, and scientific contexts in which recreation professionals work

Nature Based Tourism

  • Students in this option focus on understanding the natural, social, and economic opportunities and constraints underlying tourism in natural resource settings
  • Coursework provides: (1) specific knowledge in budgeting, marketing, and administration; (2) an appreciation of human behaviors and needs during tourism-related pursuits; and (3) an understanding of the political and economic interactions between the business world and land managers.
