Lubrecht Experimental Forest

Established in 1937, the forest is a 28,000-acre outdoor classroom and research laboratory in the Blackfoot River drainage. The Castles Forestry Center, the Lubrecht Lodge, and camp facilities located at the site host public and professional natural resource-related educational activities, university workshops, students training, and research.

Bandy Experimental Ranch

It is a 3,436-acre working cattle ranch operated by the School of Forestry. Both University of Montana and the Montana State University Agricultural Experiment Station conduct research on the ranch. The ranch, located 18 miles northeast of the Lubrecht Forest, was the bequest of Edward Bandy, Jr. in 1989.

Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch

It is a 6,000-acre cattle ranch near Duypuyer, Montana purchased by the Boone and Crockett Club in 1986. In a unique partnership with the School of Forestry and other cooperators, the Boone and Crockett Club sponsors research, education, and demonstration projects at the Ranch and on campus through an endowed position, the Boone and Crockett Professor of Wildlife Conservation.
