Cadet Sean Conlon, Senior Resource Conservation, Selected for the Prestigious George C. Marshall Leadership Award
Cadet Sean Conlon, a senior earning a degree in Forestry (Resource Conservation), has been selected for the prestigious George C. Marshall Leadership Award. He will receive a scholarship to attend the 2008 George C. Marshall Seminar at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia from 14-18 April. He is one of only 273 cadets across the nation chosen for this honor. Over the course of the seminar, awardees will take part in a number of roundtable discussions with distinguished facilitators from the military, government, and the civilian sector, dealing with issues such as the impact of the Peacekeeping and the U.S. Military, Ethics: An Officer’s Character, Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism and Conflict in the Persian Gulf: Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Sean is a 2004 graduate of Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Illinois. He is ranked in the top 4% in the nation out of over 4,200 ROTC cadets and is designated a Distinguished Military Graduate. He currently holds an impressive 3.48 cumulative GPA and serves as the Battalion Commander of the University of Montana Grizzly Battalion. Sean will serve as an Infantry officer upon commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army on 10 May, 2008.
