UM students study climate change in Vietnam for wintersession

Sixten students are in a wintersession course in Vietnam learning about climate change impacts and adaptations there. The study abroad course is part of UM's climate change studies program and developed through a relationship between UM's Mansfield Center and Can Tho University in Vietnam. Students and UM professor of environmental studies Dan Spencer were welcomed at Nong Lam University for a discussion with students working on environmental issues. They also visited the mangrove restoration project and toured a family-owned sustainable shrimp farm − all after first receiving a briefing at the US Consulate and touring the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Read more about their trip on their blog, Deep in the Delta: Stories from Vietnam.
