Job Skills Day

The Wildlife Society holds a Job Skills Day every year at Lubrecht Experimental Forest. This weekend is an opportunity for Student in the Wildlife Society to learn some of the skills that they will need in order to obtain jobs in the summer.

Some of the skills that are usually practiced on Job Skills Day are small mammal trapping and handling methods at our study site on Section 13. We have also participated in bird banding for a local MAPS station at Seeley Lake. Other skill building exercises include the use of GPS units in marking sites and finding marked points and radio telemetry to find collared "animals" in the forest of Lubrecht. This year we also hope to do some winter tracking if we get any snow.
