Instructions

Please:

  • DO NOT MOVE THE CAMARA, TABLES, LIGHTBOARD, MONITORS …
    - They are aligned very carefully with the lightboard.

  • DO NOT TURN ON THE ROOM LIGHTS
    - Lights will go off and on automatically
    - You can turn on the small desk lamps on the table if they are turned off when you arrive.

  • DO NOT SPRAY ANYTHING ON THE LIGHTBOARD
     - Use the microfiber towel to wipe off the lightboard – Do NOT wet it

  • ONLY USE THE MARKERS PROVIDED
    - These are a special kind of marker

    This computer uses a shared account so if you connect to Box, make sure you logout!
    - It uses the guest wifi

Lecture Capture without PowerPoint Presentation

  1. Put your USB in the “Recording” slot located on the table.  Your USB must be formatted FAT32 (most common formatting)
  2. Stand behind the Lightboard.
  3. Hit the red button – There will be a 5 second countdown and your recording will begin.
  4. Hit the red button to stop recording.
  5. Retrieve your USB. The recording(s) will be on the USB.


Lecture Capture WITH a PowerPoint Presentation

  1. Put your USB in the “Presentation” slot on the table.
  2. Double click on the “Presentation Control” icon. Then don’t touch the mouse again until the presentation monitor is mirrored on the recording screen (a macro runs so don’t interrupt it)
  3. Copy your presentation from your USB to the desktop and remove your USB
  4. Put your USB in the “Recording Slot”
  5. Launch your Presentation
  6. Stand behind the Lightboard (There is small remote on the table to advance your presentation slides)
  7. Hit the red button – There will be a 5 second countdown and your recording will begin.
  8. Hit the red button to stop recording.
  9. Retrieve your USB. The recording(s) will be on the USB
  10. Close your PowerPoint presentation
  11. Double click on the “Presentation Control” icon. Then don’t touch the mouse again until the presentation monitor is no longer mirrored on the recording screen (a macro runs so don’t interrupt it)


After your Recording(s)

You can put your USB back into the “Presentation” slot and open your recordings to view/edit them. You can use iMovie to edit the video right on the computer, or you can edit the recordings on your own computer.
