104th Foresters’ Ball Postponed

FCFC students prepare for the 103rd Foresters' Ball in February 2020.

The W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation is saddened to announce the 104th Foresters’ Ball will be postponed. The event, which was tentatively scheduled for early March 2022, will instead be held in 2023.

The uncertainty of the last two years presented challenges which made it difficult to host an event like Foresters’ Ball in a way that is both true to the spirit of the Ball and safe for our community.

Established in 1915, the Foresters’ Ball is one of the University of Montana’s oldest traditions. Each year, students in the FCFC and from across campus transform the Schreiber Gymnasium into a turn-of-the-century logging town and host a dance.

This will mark the fourth time in its history that the event has been canceled. The ball was postponed in 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic; the previous two cancellations occurred during World War II.

We thank the community for their continued support, and we hope to see you all next year for Foresters’ Ball!
