Personal Summary

I am a Latin American food cultures and socio-environmental justice researcher and educator. I have spent time learning about the cosmovision of indigenous people in Costa Rica as it relates to biodiversity conservation and have worked with MST (Landless Workers Movement) members in Brazil to understand their lived experiences of food sovereignty. My current research focuses on the relationship between food culture and agrobiodiversity conservation in two indigenous communities in Mexico, one in Yucatán and the other in Oaxaca.
