FCFC Moves College-Level Commencement Ceremony Online

As the worldwide coronavirus pandemic continues, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education has canceled all in-person spring commencement ceremonies in the Montana University System. Following this directive, the University of Montana will not host its traditional in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, May 9.

The University is developing options to help graduates and their families celebrate and asks that graduates complete this survey by April 10 to provide input and ideas. Students who already rented graduation regalia will receive full refunds. Diplomas will be mailed to the address on each student’s graduation application. More information is available on the UM coronavirus updates student page.

Additionally, we are sorry to report that the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation has canceled our college-level in-person commencement ceremony, previously scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. We are, however, excited to report that we are tentatively planning a digital ceremony on May 9 in place of our in-person event. While we may be forced to be apart during this challenging time, we hope to come together remotely to celebrate our graduates and all their accomplishments. Our faculty and staff are currently hard at work planning this digital celebration, and we will be in touch soon with more details.

The health and safety of our students and community is our highest priority. And while this development is likely as disappointing to you as it is to us, rest assured that we still plan to celebrate your accomplishments in style. Thanks for your patience and flexibility during this time. We will be in touch soon.

Congratulations on nearing the completion of your degree program!  Below are the deadlines and fees for filing graduation paperwork for both graduate and undergraduate students along with links to the electronic applications and other graduation resources.
