UM Society for Ecological Restoration

Mission: 

The mission of UM SER is to promote ecological restoration as a means of sustaining the diversity of life on Earth and reestablish an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture.

What we do:

  • Service projects such as restore diversity to Mt. Sentinel's prairie, restore the M trail to prevent trail erosion, manage invasive species on Mt. Sentinel
  • Promote collaboration between UM and the surrounding Missoula community
  • Provide volunteer opportunities for students to gain experience in restoration practice
  • Promote research and citizen science in the field of ecological restoration
  • Provide professional development opportunities for ecological restoration students
