About PTRM

With a degree in Parks, Tourism & Recreation Management, you can work in some of the world's most beautiful places while ensuring that sensitive resources are protected for future generations. You'll prepare for a career with land management agencies, state agencies, nonprofits,or the nature-based tourism industry or for graduate study in these and related areas. PTRM graduates work in amazing natural landscapes, safeguarding natural and cultural heritage.

You'll learn about the social, ecological, and policy aspects of protected area management and recreation/tourism. Learning takes place both in and out of the classroom through field trips, field classes, and a supervised internship. Our faculty are part of international and local research and service projects so they're experts in their field and are also knowledgable about the most current issues.

You can join Student Recreation Association and Montana Parks and Recreation Association student clubs to find your community of peers dedicated to outdoor recreation and natural resource protection.
